Many would be guilty of watching Johnny’s lift of Baby atleast a 100 times. And if you still have no clue what I am talking about right now, drop whatever you are doing (that exam can wait!) and go watch Dirty Dancing right now#. It is one of “those monumental movies” that people across generations have watched and continue to do so. And the fact that the movie turns 30 this year is bound to make many of the 80s and 90s kids feel old. While the movie is memorable for many reasons, there are many life lessons hidden in it. Hence here are 3 life lessons to take away from Dirty Dancer as a teenager.

3. Live a little
You are young, wild and free. And as cliched as it may sound, it’s the truth. As Penny said “God wouldn’t have given you the maracas if he didn’t want you to shake them!” Baby went out on a limb throughout the movie as she tried to show that there’s so much more to her than a rich little 16 year old. So go live your life! Its what you should be doing best.

2. There is no point in lying. Just be honest
“I carried a watermelon”. That was the truth that slipped out of Baby’s mouth. Whether she meant to say it or not. The truth is the truth and its bound to work in your favour one way or another. So just stay truthful.

1. Noone gets to count you out
Not even yourself. You are always in a game and do not let Anyone else say otherwise. As the beautiful Johnny Castle said “Noone puts Baby in the corner”. And he meant it. Absolutely noone.

This movie can be seen time and again and every sing time you are going to notice something new about it. Nothing is Not good about it. And what about that mind blowing sound track? Has anyone not heard the song “time of my life”? If you haven’t, you are missing out big time! Happy watching and until next time, peace out!
