At Exodus Wear we love when the schools email us a concept that we have not been done before. We recently had the task of putting together a reversible jacket for Australian Christian College. Our client wanted to create a jacket that was modern but still had significance to their school and their faith.
Australian Christian College is a small school with only a handful of Year 12 students at each of their 4 campuses. Exodus Wear worked with the students at the Marsden Park campus to come up with a design and then had a sample made which could be sent around to all the other campuses. That way if the students at those campuses wanted to order one too they were able to without having to worry about not having enough students to make up an order.
One side of the reversible jacket followed our traditional baseball jacket design. On this side we used a more formal design in keeping with their school uniform. On the outside of the jacket the school had leather look applique on the sleeves which gave the jacket a more modern edge. They also incorporated their schools initial with the school written on the inside in a felt applique giving the jacket another focal point. Also included was their school emblem, school name and personalised names embroidered onto the front chest.
On the showerproof material side we created a more informal jacket to be worn on sports days. The students came up with a fantastic design to include their faith in a subtle way by incorporating a cross into the design.. They also put a lovely scripture from the bible on the back, which gave the jacket a personal touch which was really great to see! The passage they used was 1 Timothy 4:12 which reads ‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity’
We were so excited about this garment and it has turned out fantastic. We can’t wait to see the students of the Australian Christian College wearing them out and about.
