Most of the time we will hear complaints from our friends or cinema audiences that the movie is not as good as the book. Unfortunately, we got to admit that lots of time this may very well be the case. The main problem might be the movie fail to convey the overall message of the book. I can say that this is probably one of the most successful to have stemmed from a series of fantasy novels. Harry Potter series novel was one of the best-selling books and eight box-office smashing movies. It also has its own theme park in Universal Studio US as well as Universal Studio Japan and even a studio-tour attraction.

The reason behind its success is probably because the way they grew with their audience, getting darker and more mature as both audience and characters in the stories developed into adulthood which is something directly mimicked Rowling’s treatment of the plot in the novel! It also casts a lot of UK acting talent and the now global superstars. They are Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and Michael Gambon.

2.    The Hobbit/The Lord of The Ring

It seems fantasy tends to be one of the successful genres when it comes to book-to-movie. Of course, The Lord of the Ring series is no exception.

The series not only success financially, the movies won 17 out of 30 total Academy Award nominations. The reason behind its success is probably its innovative special and visual effects that is quite similar to what the book trying to portray.
