The end is just around the corner… you’re so close to finishing the HSC! It’s an extremely exciting time of life, with a world of possibilities to explore. So what should you do to celebrate the end of months of studying and the craziness of exams? Here are four ideas for some fantastic ways to celebrate the end of the HSC.

  1. Destroy those notes!

Destroying the countless study notes you made during the HSC is a great way to mark the end of that part of your life, and it can be really fun to do with your friends! When I finished the HSC, a friend of mine hosted a note-burning bonfire, and we all brought along some notes we knew we didn’t want to keep and threw them into the flames. It was a great way to mark our freedom! If you’re planning a fire, make sure you do it safely and if fire isn’t going to work, a shredder works just as well for saying good bye to those pesky notes!

  1. Hit the town

Lots of HSC students turn 18 in the midst of study, but if that’s you you’re unlikely to have been able to go out very much before the end of the HSC. So, now’s the time! Enjoy your adulthood and check out the hottest clubs, but also enjoy the new world that’s been opened up to you – rooftop bars, pub trivia, over 18s gigs and more. If you’re not 18 yet, don’t worry. There are plenty of things you can do that don’t involve alcohol! Your time will come soon.

  1. Have a lazy day

During the HSC, studying takes priority over rest a lot of the time. And even when you weren’t studying, you might have felt guilty about the things you should have been doing. Now that there’s nothing left to study, have a lazy day and enjoy knowing there’s nothing else you have to do. Stay in your pyjamas, binge watch Netflix and eat junk food from dawn until dusk. Have a nap at 11am! You can do that now!

  1. Explore the world

While you were an HSC student, you probably spent a lot of time at your desk, or in the library, or at school. Your world became very small. But now, with the end of the HSC, everything is opening up again! Get out into the world and see things. Go to parts of your town or city you’ve never been before. See how far you can travel just using public transport. Go hiking or bushwalking. Discover secret beaches and hidden forests. There’s no limit to what you can do and where you can go now! Grab a fully charged phone, a few friends, a camera, a hat, some sunscreen and some water, and explore our wonderful world.
