It’s been weeks since La La Land was released in Australian theatres and it’s still going strong! Highly praised for it’s homage to broadway classics, as well as jazz, La La Land is a captivating musical masterpiece. It features Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as lead characters Mia and Sebastian. Mia and Seb are two struggling creators in the harsh landscape of modern culture.
La La Land is a beautiful story about love and following your dreams, but what was it like before it all happened? We’ve taken the liberty of digging up the high school photos of the cast of La La Land.
Enjoy!
Emma Stone
Ladies first. Emma Stone made a big impact in ‘Easy A’ and has since appeared in many films. Known for her quirky and sweet presence, she’s always a favourite. We think her high school photo is absolutely adorable! Look at that smile!
Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling is always a crowd favourite. Since his appearance in ‘The Notebook’, Ryan has inspired women everywhere. He has starred alongside Emma before, in ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’, which is arguably one of the best rom-coms out there. We can’t get over pre-beard, high school Ryan, though.
John Legend
John plays Keith in La La Land, Sebastian’s old ‘frienemy’. He puts his musical skills to good use by writing and singing one of the jazz-fusion songs in the film. As you can see, John Legend really hasn’t aged a day.
It’s just now that we realise how small the lead cast of La La Land really is. The whole film centres around Mia and Sebastian, focusing on their dynamic, so there’s little room for others. Some of the only other cast members with solos are Mia’s housemates: Caitlin, Tracy and Alexis. We couldn’t find any high school photos of them, but we wanted to praise the diversity of this small ensemble.
We think these girls are ones to watch, as they further their acting careers. Who knows where they will go in the future!
This post has been short, but we hope that it gave you a little entertainment amidst your studies! We love posting celebrity high school photos because it reminds us that all of the people we look up to were once in high school, just like us!
Tell us what your favourite part of La La Land was in the comments, we’d love to know!
