Finally got to your graduation ceremony! Yay! Picked out your fabulous outfit! Woo! Got a fabulous hairstyle in mind to perfectly frame your face – with your graduation cap/mortar board in mind? Yeah didn’t think so! No need to worry I got your graduation cap hairstyles ready to roll!
Look here’s the scoop – from a graduation veteran – the graduation cap is big, heavy, covers most of your head and you will be wearing it the entire ceremony and through all the picture taking. The entire top section of you head will be covered up and squashed. Thus, you will experience side effects including lack of volume, hat hair and a large amount of frizz.
Solution? Just go with it – so here’s what we’ve got to work with: covered up head, hat hair, major frizz, little room under hat, hat will remain on head – so hair styles that go well with hats! Also a mirror and brush in your purse just incase touch ups are required.
Long/Medium Length hair:
Go curls! Curl and moose your hair into place, pull it to the side or on either side of your face – like Shakira see:
Flat-iron it straight! Straighten your locks into submission and position on either side of your face or to the side.
Neat ponytail! Keep it classy and neat with a low ponytail! Wrap you hair around the elastic and pin it underneath your ponytail for a super chic look!
Side braids! There are many different styles of braids you can do – did someone say Rapunzel inspired!? Yep you can add flowers, hair spins and braid your hair in different ways – checkout youtube tutorials on braiding for inspiration!
Short hair:
Have short hair? Wash, brush and style as per usual, stuff the cap on your head and hope for the best! You won’t be able to see much of it anyway!
How about a personalised bomber jacket with university related slogan printed on it to celebrate your graduation? May I suggest #Ps get degrees! For Psychology grad: I’m Psyched! #Graduated!
