If you love grilled cheese sandwiches, hashtags, glowing hearts, and a third-person Latin narrator that tells the story about how the main protagonist was accidentally artificially inseminated and is now raising a baby boy in a world filled with drama and suspense – then you know you’re a dedicated #JTV fan! (I know right?! Straight out of a telenovela!).
This satirical romantic comedy-drama parodies Latin telenovela’s, and what a wonderful job at that it does. After the heartbreaking twist at the end of the mid-season finale of Season 3 with Michael Cordero’s death in succumbing to his gun shot wound in Season 2, #JTV fans were in complete disarray trying to navigate through the 5 stages of grief. It was meant to be #teammichaelforever and up until now #JTV fans are still grieving for Jane and Michael. However, the show must go on, and we must always remember that this story is about Jane and her journey through life, but “For as long as Michael lived, until he drew his very last breath, he never did stop loving Jane.” (#willalwaysbeteammichaelforeversorryteamrafaelfans).
For #JTV fans that want a bit of closure, Jennie Snyder Urman, the creator of Jane The Virgin, wrote an open letter to fans explaining the creative thought process behind such a bold decision. Reading this may make you cry even more, but it will give your heart a little breather knowing that there is a reason to everything.
