And of course, also its set of fashion trends that took over the younger generation of teens and adults around the trend. 5. Over the knee boots
Sometimes footwear just doesn’t get the amount of attention it needs. The over the knee boots were the answer to this problem. Great at adding illusions to your outfit, they can make a simple denim jean look look absolutely high fash. They show both rebellion and feminity when paired with a short skirt or dress.

Undoubtedly the fashion statement of the year, the choker made a rapid resurgence this year. Velvetty, plain coloured, jewelled, patterned etc etc. The choker can either assist your outfit or make a statement on its own. With an endless range of styles and designs, these things were initially introduced as a partner for off the shoulder outfits. Which makes sense given the fact that they were back on the top this year as well.

2016 was colloquially known as the Year of the Bomber Jacket in the fashion world. Favoured by both young men and women alike, these were fashion essentials whether just draped over the shoulder or actually part of the outfit. The Bomber jacket was favoured for its strong personality and the fact that it is kind of perfect for autumn/spring weather. And because of this, investing in a bomber jacket will be an eternal investment. Just saying.

The outfit that needs absolutely no effort to look a million dollars. Whether you are looking for an outfit for a party or a formal event or just a night out, jumpsuits and playsuits are almost always a good option. And in the fast paced world that we live in, we are always looking for options that don’t need a lot of commitment. Along with the fact that they can be accessorized with almost anything, this is why the jumpsuit was a start this year.

Walk into any clothing store and you were guaranteed to spot atleast 2 off shoulder outfits. It was the look of the summer as it exudes the perfect balance of flirtatiousness and stylishness. They could be worn in any design you want, paired with what ever you want. A very versatile piece which was why it made its presence felt all over the globe this year.
Every year the most popular fashion trends are bound to change, whether slightly or radically. Inspired by a lot of factors, fashion trends are sometimes not that complicated to keep up with as you can see. Besides, these were just a few of the hundreds of trends that we saw this year.
